The long-awaited permanent school building is HERE! KWP completed construction of the school, and classes began in September of 2021. The 2022 school year begins in June and ends in February of 2023.
The school includes nine classrooms, a nurse's office, an administrative office, and a storage room. It serves 300 - 400 students from the 12 Khor Wakow villages. The three temporary learning centers will continue to function to accommodate all 500 - 600 students in the region.
Stay tuned for more exciting announcements to come. We are overjoyed that the school is a reality and is up and running.
Thank you to all our supporters!
God bless!

David Jal’s story is inspiring. He reminds me that no matter how bad things seem, you can always make a difference in your own life and in the lives of others if you have a positive attitude and never give up.

I feel honored to be involved with this part of Davids Journey. It is amazing how even small gestures go a long way. I am excited that this book will spread a message of hope, courage, and appreciation. David's story opens our eyes to the true meaning of perseverance, family bonds, and sacrifice. I will be forever grateful for having the privilege to belong to this effort.

I just ordered some of the “David’s Journey” books online, and the process was fast, friendly, and secure!

As Secretary of the Khor Wakow School Project, I get to open some of the mail that comes in and write thank-yous to donors. I am constantly amazed by the generosity of South Dakotans and people around the Country. The people involved in this project are dedicated and hardworking. It's been a pleasure getting to know everyone involved. I've gotten a chance to meet many local Sudanese in my outings with David. This experience has broadened and enriched my world. When you hear David's story, you will be moved. It's a story that is at times hard to fully appreciate as someone who grew up in the United States, but it is a beautiful story and one of great struggle, accomplishment, and hope for the future.
